Terms of Service
The rules of engagement when you use SaneSounds.com or any plugin we publish.
These are template Terms drafted to fit a typical audio-software company. Have a lawyer review before going live — language around liability, jurisdiction, and consumer rights varies by region.
01Acceptance of terms
By accessing the SaneSounds website, downloading any installer, or activating any license key, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms") and our Privacy Policy and End-User License Agreement. If you do not agree, do not use the service or the software.
SaneSounds Acoustic Instruments ("SaneSounds," "we," "us") may revise these Terms at any time. Material changes will be announced on this page with a new effective date; continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
02Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old (or the age of digital consent in your jurisdiction) to create an account or purchase a license. By using the service, you represent that you meet this requirement and that all information you provide is accurate.
03Account & license
A purchase grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the software in accordance with the EULA. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and license keys, and for all activity under your account.
Sharing license keys, reselling, or transferring licenses without our written consent is prohibited and may result in deactivation without refund.
04Payment & pricing
All prices are listed in USD unless otherwise stated and exclude applicable taxes. Payments are processed by our third-party payment provider; SaneSounds does not store full credit-card data.
Currency & taxes
Local taxes (VAT, GST, sales tax) are added at checkout where required by law. Promotional discounts are not retroactive and may not be combined unless explicitly stated.

05Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the software except where local law expressly permits
- Distribute, sublicense, rent, lease, or sell the software
- Remove or alter copyright, trademark, or other proprietary notices
- Use the service to violate any applicable law or third-party right
- Attempt to circumvent license enforcement, activation limits, or DRM
- Upload malicious code, spam, or content that infringes intellectual property
06Intellectual property
All content on the SaneSounds website — including but not limited to logos, copy, imagery, audio demonstrations, plugin GUIs, DSP algorithms, and presets — is the property of SaneSounds or its licensors and is protected by international copyright, trademark, and trade-secret laws.
Audio output produced by your use of the software belongs to you. You may use it commercially without attribution.
07Updates & support
License purchases include free minor updates (e.g., 1.0 → 1.x) for the lifetime of the product, and email support during reasonable business hours. Major paid upgrades (e.g., 1.x → 2.0) may be offered at a discounted rate to existing customers but are not guaranteed.
Support is provided on a best-effort basis and does not constitute a warranty of fitness for any particular use case.
08Disclaimers
The service and software are provided "as is" and "as available." To the maximum extent permitted by law, SaneSounds disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
We do not warrant that the software will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components, or that defects will be corrected.
09Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, SaneSounds and its affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages — including lost profits, lost data, business interruption, or studio downtime — arising from your use of the service or software.
Our total aggregate liability for any claim arising under these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid SaneSounds for the relevant license in the 12 months preceding the claim.
10Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account and licenses if you breach these Terms, attempt fraud, or pose a risk to other users or the service. Upon termination, your right to use the software ends; sections 6, 8, 9, and 11 survive.
11Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany, excluding conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute shall be resolved in the courts of Berlin, Germany. Consumers retain mandatory protections under their country of residence.
