End-User License Agreement
The license that governs how you install, activate, and use SaneSounds software.
You buy a license — not the software itself. Use it on up to three machines you own, don't share keys, don't reverse-engineer, and the audio you make with it is yours, royalty-free.
01Grant of license
Subject to your compliance with this Agreement and full payment of applicable fees, SaneSounds grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the software ("Software") for personal or commercial music production.
02Activations & machines
A single license permits activation on up to three (3) machines you own or primarily use (e.g., studio desktop, laptop, render machine). You may deactivate a machine at any time via your account dashboard to free a slot.
If you exceed your activation limit due to hardware changes, contact support@sanesounds.com and we will reset slots in good faith.
03Restrictions
You may not:
- Copy the Software except for one backup copy for archival purposes
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, disassemble, or attempt to derive source code, except where local law expressly permits and only to the extent necessary
- Modify, adapt, translate, or create derivative works
- Rent, lease, lend, sublicense, sell, or distribute the Software or any license key
- Bundle the Software with hardware or other products without a written distribution agreement
- Remove or obscure copyright, trademark, or other proprietary notices
- Use the Software to develop a competing product
- Circumvent or attempt to circumvent license-enforcement mechanisms
04Ownership
The Software is licensed, not sold. SaneSounds and its licensors retain all right, title, and interest in the Software, including all intellectual-property rights. No rights are granted to you other than those expressly stated here.
05Updates
SaneSounds may, from time to time, release updates, patches, or new versions. Minor updates within the same major version (e.g., 1.0 → 1.x) are provided free of charge under this license. Major upgrades may be offered separately.
You are not obligated to install updates, but support is best-effort on the latest stable version.
06Audio output
Any audio you create using the Software is your property. You may use it commercially, distribute it, and license it under terms you choose, royalty-free and without attribution to SaneSounds. This includes audio rendered using factory presets.
07License transfer
Licenses are non-transferable by default. A one-time transfer to another individual may be permitted under our written approval and a transfer fee. Educational and bundle licenses are non-transferable.
08Termination
This license terminates automatically if you breach any provision. Upon termination you must uninstall the Software and destroy all copies. Sections 3, 4, 9, and 10 survive termination.
09Warranty disclaimer
The Software is provided "AS IS" without warranty of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, SaneSounds disclaims all warranties, whether express, implied, statutory, or otherwise — including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement.
SaneSounds does not warrant that the Software will operate uninterrupted, error-free, or in combination with any specific host application or hardware.
10Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, SaneSounds shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages — including lost profits, lost recordings, lost data, or studio downtime — even if advised of the possibility.
Aggregate liability shall not exceed the amount paid for the relevant license.
11Third-party notices
The Software may include third-party libraries licensed under permissive open-source terms (MIT, BSD, Zlib, etc.). A complete list of components and their licenses is available in the LICENSES.txt file shipped with the installer.
